Live Audio & Video | TL;DR
I led the design and strategy to embed live audio & video in the signing-room of an E-Sign application to enable financial services organizations to execute high value, high risk, highly regulated loan documents remotely.

By integrating live audio & video directly in the signing room we were able to generate significant marketing attention, greatly improved our competitive advantage, and created a new SKU to increase E-Sign per package revenue by 20%. This feature also became the basis of several other advanced offerings from the company.
The Challenge
The convergence of adult-millennial consumers, the ubiquity of smartphones, and the COVID pandemic accelerated the adoption of remote business in 2020. Our eSign customers expressed interest in executing loan documents remotely in a live/guided session, but simple "screen share" with tools like Zoom were not secure enough and didn't provide the collaboration and audit-trail capabilities necessary for the financial services industry.
The Theory
For financial institutions who want electronically sign document in a remote and collaborative digital environment, SmartSign-Live could be a secure option that delivers improved identity verification and better customer service. Unlike the competition, SmartSign-Live would provide the highest degree of auditability and identity verification, required for financial services transactions.

The Results
By integrating live audio & video directly in the signing room we were able to:
-
Generate significant marketing attention
-
Improve our competitive advantage, demonstrated by an increase in product demos
-
Create a new SKU to increase E-Sign per package revenue by 20%
-
Iterate and experiment with new features that took advantage of the A/V foundation
