About Me

Jack of all trades, master of some.

When I'm not thinking about software, I'm a Dad, a Drummer, and a DIYer.

Dad

My wife, Jamie, and I have three daughters - Charlie, Clara, and Noelle. Charlie wants to be a veterinarian, and Taylor Swift, and a waitress when she grows up; Clara is a physical comedy genius; Noelle is anxious to learn to crawl so she can chase (and get away from) her older sisters as soon as possible.

Drummer

I love funk and soul music -- And hip-hop from the 80's and 90's was based on samples of some of the best funk and soul songs ever written -- so I started an "Old-School Hip-Hop" band and played covers of Run-DMC, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, and many other legendary artists.  We had a weekly regular gig at a local bar in Maryland, and we got to play the main stage at Artscape in Baltimore shortly before George Clinton headlined (without the rest of Parliament Funkadelic, unfortunately).

DIYer

With the help of my wife, my father-in-law, and YouTube, I've renovated almost all of our historic Victorian house from the 1890's including the kitchen, laundry room, bathrooms, and bedrooms. While my wife loves the before & after pictures - I most enjoy the process of planning, deconstructing, and building something new and better (and something that hopefully supports resale value.) I have my eyes set on framing-out our unfinished basement and creating one small place in the house with no princess/unicorn/trolls decorations some time in the future.
